All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) was conducted  by National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) for admissions to as many as 81 seats in five-year integrated law programme B.A. LLB. The BA LLB entrance test of NLU Delhi had been conducted in offline mode at as many as 19 cities of India.The examination conducts once in a year in the month of May. The AILET application form releases in the first week of January every year.

Exam Dates

Te notification for the authentic dates of AILET 2017 will be available on December 2016. The online application will be initiated from the first week of January . The AILET 2017 tentative dates are mentioned below:

NLU Delhi Eligibility

The eligibility criteria is specified and prescribed by the NLU, Delhi. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying:

  1. For B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with securing minimum 50% aggregate.
  2. The candidates must be below 21 years as on 1 July, 2017 (23 years in case of SC/ST category) for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) programme.
  3. For LL.M. (One year) programme& PG Diploma programme, aspirants should havecompleted LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with securing 55% marks (for general candidates) and 50% marks (for SC, ST or PwD candidates).
  4. For Ph.Dprogramme, candidates must have a LL.M. Degree or equivalent with scoring minimum55% marks for general candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Candidates appearing in qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.


AILET Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M and Ph.D. Programmes will be different. The detailed exam pattern for these courses is mentioned below:
B.A., LL.B. (Hons.):
The question paper will contain total 150 multiple choice questions. There will be four optional answers will be given for each question. The exam duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes. The exam structure is mentioned below:

LL.M Course:

The question paper will carry maximum 150 marks. There will be 100 objective type questions and 1 essay question. The exam duration will be around 90 minutes. The objective type section will contain 100 marks and essay section will contain 50 marks.


Ph.D. Programmes:

The entrance exam will comprise in two papers i.e. paper 1 (Research Methodology) and paper 2(Research Proposal Specific Paper). The paper 1 will comprise in 100 multiple choice questions and the time duration will be 1 hour 30 minutes. The paper 2 candidates have to submit a research proposal not more than 15 pages on the topic which candidates want to pursue a Ph.D.

The seat reservation in LL.M. programme for different categories is as the following:

NLU Delhi Admission Process

The admission in different courses will be based on the rank secured by the candidates in the merit list. For Ph.Dprogramme, candidates who have cleared UGC NET/JRF, SLET, and M.Phil.will be exempted for taking the admission test. For B.A.LL.B.(Hons.)course, admission in 70 seats will be done through AILET merit list and 10 seats are reserved for direct admission to Foreign Nationals. For admission in Ph.Dprogramme, candidates have to clear the entrance exam after candidates have to make an oral presentation before the doctoral committee.


CLASSES:4 days a week for regular students (Tuesday to Friday) (3 hours per day)
Test series and mocks test on regular basis will be conducted by institute.
CLASS DURATION:  3 hours per day in a week
Weekend classes on Sat and Sun for working candidates (4 hours)
